Intro: STUNT is a new kind of sport built off the athletic side of cheerleading. No pom-poms. No crowd work. Just head-to-head competition based on skill, strength, and precision.
What Makes STUNT Different?
-
It’s all about the technical side of cheer: stunts, pyramids, tumbling, jumps.
-
Two teams perform the same routine at the same time.
-
Judges give points based on who does it better.
This isn’t a sideline activity. It’s a full-blown sport.
How a STUNT Game Works
STUNT has four quarters, each showing off different skills:
-
Partner Stunts
Quick, 30-second routines with lifts and holds.
-
Pyramids & Tosses
Big, team-based stunts with throws and group lifts.
-
Jumps & Tumbling
Fast-paced routines packed with flips and jumps.
-
Team Routine
Everything from the first three quarters, all rolled into one.
Safety First
-
Routines are standardized.
-
Skill levels progress step by step.
-
It’s designed to keep athletes safe and reduce injuries.
Where Is STUNT Happening?
-
High Schools across the country are picking it up.
-
Colleges and Universities are joining in too.
-
It’s even recognized as an emerging sport for women by the NCAA.
Why It Matters
STUNT gives female athletes a chance to compete in a real sport with real rules—and get credit for their skills. It’s competitive, challenging, and growing fast.
